HBC Website Access Rules

 

Most pages of the HBC website are visible to the general public. There are some

pages which are only visible to HBC members. There are other pages where special

functions are reserved for HBC members. In addition, they are various

administrative functions which are only available to club officers. The following

is a list of those special pages and functions.

 

Note: All required fields have a lemon yellow background color. If you need more

information about the desired input values, run your cursor over the label next to the

required field and a longer description will popup.

 

The following pages are only visible to HBC members after they log in:

 

        My Membership -- update your own membership information

 

        Suggestion Box -- add a suggestion

 

        Ride Review -- add a ride review for any ride

 

        Ride Starter -- add a review of the rides you started

 

 

The following actions are available to all HBC members after they log in

but are not available to the general public:

 

        View and download ride maps on the Rides page

 

        Sign up to be a ride starter on the Ride Schedule page

 

        Add a Bike Shop Report

 

        Edit your own Classified Ad

 

        Renew your own Classified Ad

 

        Terminate your own Classified Ad

 

        Report a Stolen Bike

 

        Report a Safety Incident

 

        Add a Current Event

 

        Add a photo to the Photo Gallery

 

The following actions are available to all HBC officers after they log in

but are not available to general HBC members:

 

        Add, Change, and Delete Reports which include:

 

         Bike Shop Reports

         Incident Reports

         Stolen Bike Reports

         Current Events

 

        Create Links to other websites and sponsors

 

        Send general email alerts to all HBC members who receive alerts

 

        Delete any photo from the Photo Gallery

 

        Delete any suggestion from the Suggestion Box

 

        Edit any Classified Ad

 

 

There are certain actions that can only be performed by specific club officers:

 

        Secretary:

 

Maintain the list of club officials

Schedule the club meetings

Send email reminder for club meetings

 

        Ride Chairman:

 

Maintain the list of rides and maps

Maintain the ride schedule

 

        Membership Chairman:

 

Look up other member's id and password

Send email to members who need to renew

Print mailing labels for members who need to renew

Expire members who did not renew

Change the status of any member

 

        Newsletter Editor:

 

Create newsletter corrections

Upload the current version of the Final Draft

Email the Final Draft to newsletter recipients

Generate mailing labels for the Final Draft

 

        Webmaster:

 

Can perform all functions

 

        President:

 

Can perform all functions
